Principal's Report
Mr Jim Hill
Rotary Club Speech Competition Last week Wednesday 2nd August, the Rotary Club of Templestowe held the primary school speech contest hosted by St Gregory the Great Primary school. Doncaster Primary was very fortunate to partake in the competition where Atrina M and Jude D represented our school. We are very proud of our two Level 6 students who reached the final round. We congratulate them on presenting their speeches with confidence, clarity and eloquence. Well done!
WE WANT OUR PARENTS/CAREGIVERS/GUARDIANS TO TELL US WHAT THEY THINK!
Dear Parents,
Some families will be asked to participate in the 2023 Parent / Caregiver / Guardian Opinion Survey.
Each year the school conducts an opinion survey with the school community.
A random sample of approximately 30 per cent of parents / caregivers / guardians have been selected to participate in this year’s survey.
If you have received the survey please take the time to complete the survey as your opinions are important to us and will contribute to the future management and organisation of our school. The department will use the results from the survey for research purposes and to improve outcomes for students.
Please be assured that your responses are completely confidential. It is important that you complete the survey as honestly as possible. You will be provided with a PIN in an email to complete the survey. This is to ensure that parents / caregivers / guardians only complete the survey once.
TOILETS
Regarding my Compass post yesterday, I ask again, please speak to your child/ren about the correct way to use the toilets. Students have been caught playing in the toilets and some have admitted to playing in them including throwing wet paper at the mirrors , walls and ceiling. Some boys have urinated on the floor. This is completely inappropriate and as much as we speak to students it doesn't improve. For that reason I ask that you, as parents, please speak to your child/ren and encourage them to use the toilets appropriately, reinforce that it's not a place to play and to let their teacher know if they see anyone doing the wrong thing. This really has to stop and it is not what we do at DPS. We are very proud of our school, and this is so disappointing.
Our values are Determination Pride and Success - this behaviour (by some, not all) is not inline with our values.
