We started sowing seeds for the fair in the last fortnight. We will sow tomatoes next week. National Tree Day was a focus too. We discussed the importance of trees for clean air, tackling climate change, preventing soil erosion, improving water quality, creating and restoring habitat, and improving mental and physical health. Rhubarb was harvested to make a cordial, and spinach, celery and dill were harvested for spanakopita. The chickens have started laying so we used them to cook spanakopita.

 

 

On certain Wednesdays and Fridays this term and next, I am looking for help in the kitchen. Grades 5,6, foundation and 4s have their classes that day. Please contact the office or fill in your name on the roster below if you can assist cooking seasonal produce, even if it’s just an hour of the day.
