It's all about gratitude!

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

"Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you."

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children's Day

A big thankyou to all those who joined our walk to raise awareness and importnace of this special day in our nation.  It was a special morning to share with our community; students, parents, brothers and sisters.  We got to know our community - the dog walkers at the park, the crossing supervisors and each other.  We raised a total of $170 - thank you to all who donated.

The year 3s then hosted a liturgy for their family members.  Students planned a special service that had moments of stillness, prayerfulness, contemplation and reflection.  Thankyou to the teachers and students who selected readings or wrote prayers for the liturgy. The service concluded with Andrew Chinn's upbeat song "These hands, this heart".  Please note that Andrew Chinn will be visiting St John's on Tuesday 29th August.  Students will be working with him throughout the day and then performing in the afternoon.  You are warmly invited to watch this performance in the church at 2p.m.

Andrew has an uncanny talent to build connections with the students in such a short timeframe.  His energy and commitment to Catholic Education through music is palpable from the first note he plays.  Check in with some of our parents whose students have participated in these workshops previously, it's often the highlight of the year!  Can't wait to see you there!

Thankyou

I would like to take this opportunity to say thankyou to Tia and Sophie in grade 6 who have taken the time to create personlised cards or stones for each of the Elisabeth Murdoch College and John Paul College students who engaged with our students.  Look at their talents!
