Sport and P.E.
In the Classroom
In the Junior School, our Foundation and 1/2 students have continued their unit on kicking and foot skills. We have practised passing, shooting and dribbling, incorporating these skills into a number of games and activities. Our 3/4 classes have been busily preparing for Hoop Time, engaging in different invasion games and basketball activities to ensure we are all ready for this exciting event. In the Senior School, students have continued to work on teamwork, communication and sportsmanship in a range of co-op game settings. From Week 5, all students at BPPS will begin our annual gymnastics program. This program is always a highlight of the school calendar and promises to be a memorable experience for our students.
Sports Events
We are well and truly back in athletics mode at BPPS! On Friday 4th August our Junior School Athletics will be taking place on the bottom oval, starring all of our exceptional F-2 students. I'm looking forward to a fantastic afternoon with our F-2 students and teachers, our Year 6 leaders and hopefully plenty of enthusiastic spectators! Meanwhile, athletics training has begun for our 3-6 District Athletics Carnival, which will be taking place in early September.
BPPS Colour Run
Congratulations to FKJ, 3/4B and 5NK, who took out our first Colour Run challenge for their respective cohorts. Some great sign up numbers across the board, particularly in these three classes. Our second challenge is now underway, where we will be rewarding the class with the highest average funds raised per student by the end of Week 5 with an extra PE session in Week 6. Every little bit counts so help out your classmates and see if you can win this bonus PE time in the stadium.
Have a great week!
Mr. Wickham
