Principal's Update

Thank you for the lovely welcome back!

I had an amazing holiday filled with fantastic moments, lots of photos and great memories.

I had a wonderful welcome back for all the students and staff. I must admit it is great to be back in such a welcoming community and I am looking forward to a fantastic term!

I would like to thank the staff for the amazing work they do individually and collectively - we have a  fantastic team at WMPS and we need to be proud of that!

Lots of exciting things are happening this term including the Athletics Carnival and of course the whole school Production of  Pirates of the Currybean as well as Book week. Stay tuned for updates. Keep checking our Calendar also.

NAPLAN - by now all families will have received the NAPLAN results for students in grade 3 and grade 5. As a staff we were very happy with the results overall which demonstrated strong outcomes for our students.

SAFETY: There are some concerns regarding safe use of school crossings in our area.

Please make sure you open the Compass notification sent out this afternoon and talk to your children about crossing roads safely.

PREP ENROLMENTS 2024:

We are inviting any potential Prep students for 2024 to enrol at WMPS by August 2. Enrolments packs are available at the office from Clare or Hollie and the enrolment form for 2024 is also attached. Your child will then be able to participate in our transition program in Term 4. You are welcome to come for a tour any Monday morning at 9.30am.

Principal position:

The Department has advertised the ongoing Principal position for Waverley Meadows from Term 4 onwards. School Council will keep you updated with information.

Outside School Hours Care Update:

School Council's OSHC Sub-Committee have selected a preferred provider to operate OSHC services at Waverley Meadows Primary School commencing in Term 4.

OSHClub has been chosen as the successful provider - you can read information about the company here.  They are a well-known OSHC provider and come with many positive recommendations for other nearby schools.  We are looking forward to welcoming them to our school. The school is currently in the process of setting up the contract agreement and licence requirements and OSHClub will be in touch with all families during Term 3 with details on their service and how to register. We thank you for your patience while we go through this process.

Its great to be back. I hope you all enjoy a great weekend.

Take care

Meredith
