Sacrament of Confirmation

On Sunday 30th July, we will be celebrating the Sacrament of Confirmation in the Parish.

You are invited to join us for this very special celebration which will be celebrated by the Bishop Greg Bennet, the Bishop of the Sale Diocese.

The Sacrament of Confirmation confirms the gift of the Holy Spirit which was given at Baptism.

In the Bible, the sending of the Holy Spirit is found in Acts 2:1-13. This is called the Pentecost event.

The Gifts of the Spirit (wisdom, understanding, right judgment/counsel, courage/fortitude, knowledge, reverence/piety, wonder and awe/fear of the Lord) are found in Scripture.

The Fruits of the Holy Spirit are love, joy, peace, patience, goodness, kindness, gentleness, faithfulness and self-control. These Fruits are the Gifts in action.
