Principal's News

Mr Rodrigues

Dear Families,

One full week nearly completed and all is well at Trinity. Teachers and children are immersed in their learning and have already settled into some great routines. You may hear your children talking about being, "Ready to Learn" which is something our teachers have been promoting in their classrooms. The idea focusses on all the steps our children can take to make sure their learning time in classrooms is really productive. Of course teachers are still very focussed on ensuring each child in their class is able to develop a sense of belonging and connectedness to their peers, as we all know how important this is to their wellbeing and learning. Today I hope, all of you will have the opportunity to meet with your child's teacher to get to know them a little better and of course to share some important information about your child. One thing I have been amazed about in my short time at Trinity is how well our teachers know the children, not just those in their classrooms but across the whole school. This is such a great strength of our community and I am sure all of our new staff will quickly get to know your children as well.

How are you feeling about being back at school?

What has been a highlight of your first week?

Music Lessons

ABC Music are back with us and would love to recruit even more students this year.  Many of our children have already taken up these private and group lessons and love their time learning an instrument of their choice. To make it easy for you parents can enrol online at www.abcmusicgroup.com.au

Prep Buddies

Our Prep Buddy program will be up and running very soon with all Senior students meeting their Buddies this week. Buddy time will become a regular activity and I am sure our Prep students will make a special friend who they will always remember and who will be there to look out for them and I hope be a great role model throughout the year.

Prep 2023 Enrolments & Marketing

Word of Mouth is definitely our most important tool in promoting our wonderful school in our local community. I encourage all parents to keep spreading the word to family, friends and neighbours. Whilst we have a few special days set aside, every day is Open Day at Trinity and we welcome enquiries, school tours and visits at any time during the school week. If you currently have a child in Kinder we would greatly appreciate you sharing your thoughts about our school with other parents in your group.

Brain Breaks & Brain Food

A reminder to all parents that each day teachers provide some time for children to have a quick snack which we refer to as 'Brain Break'. It would be great if you are able to provide a little 'Brain Food' in your child's lunch box each day. Watch this video for some ideas.

Fr Trung Mass of Installation

Last year, unfortunately, Fr Trung was unable to have his Mass of Installation due to the ongoing COVID restrictions, however, we are happy to announce that this important celebration will now take place on Sunday, 27 February 2022 commencing at 9.30am at St. Ignatius Church

326 Church Street, Richmond, 3121.

Light refreshments will be served in St. Ignatius Hall at the conclusion of Mass.  Families of Trinity Primary School are warmly invited to attend.

Parent Talking Circles

This year we would like to re-introduce the idea of Parent Talking Circles at Trinity. This initiative would provide opportunities for any parent who might be interested in sharing their thoughts and ideas about important topics affecting their children and our school. It will also enable us to share and discuss school policies such as our Home Learning Policy or even Behaviour Policies to ensure parent voice and feedback is taken into consideration as we update or write new policies. In the coming weeks we will send home a GOOGLE form so that you can have the opportunity to make suggestions about topics which may be important to parents.

AAP & Parent Survey Data

Much work has already been done by our school leadership team in completing our Annual Action Plan (AAP) for 2022. A number of important outcomes have been determined based on our whole school review in 2020 and the results of our School Survey Data which was collected last year. An example of one our Outcomes for 2022 is:

That Families will be involved in relevant               decision making around policy at the

          planning stage.

This year we intend to review our Home Learning (Homework) policy and hope to have input form parents in this process.

A reminder that on our Local Community Announcement Page, we will from time to time advertise or promote interesting events which may be coming up in our local community. This week I have included a Flyer promoting a Celebrity Organ Recital to be held at St Patrick's Cathedral.

Monday Morning Gathering

Next Monday 14th February we will hold our first Monday Morning Gathering for the year. Our preps have had the opportunity to settle into a routine and now I am sure they will manage a slight change to their Monday morning so we can gather as a school community. Parents are very welcome to stay and join in the singing of our National Anthem and listen to our Senior Leaders as they update us about the week ahead.
