Return to School Information 2022

Happy New Year and welcome to 2022 at Reservoir High School. I hope that everyone has had a chance to unwind over the break and that COVID has not disrupted your summer break too much. Unfortunately, we will be returning to school with the on-going impact of COVID affecting how we operate. We are awaiting the release of the operational guidelines, which may impact on how we return to school. I will keep all families informed of our procedures if and when any changes occur. In the meantime, the following information will assist all families in the return to school-

  • The School Office will be open from 9.30am to 3.30pm on Monday 24 January, Tuesday 25 January and Thursday 27 January. On Friday 28 January, the Office will be open from 1.30pm to 3.30pm only.
  • Textbook collection for orders through ‘North of the Yarra’ Bookstore will be from 10am to Midday only on Monday 24 January. This will occur in the library.
  • Students are currently scheduled to return on Monday 31 January for the start of Period 1 at 8.40am. Please note that this may be altered as per operational guidelines and the need to stagger the return of year levels
  • The school has been able to secure a large shipment of air purifiers, with the intention for every classroom to have an air purifier ready to go for the first day of school.
  • Timetables for all students are available in Compass now. To access them, students should log into Compass, click on the Schedule Tab and jump to the week starting Monday 31 January. Year 7 students and new students to the school will receive their log ins on the first day of classes.
  • School charges for 2022 can be accessed from the school website at http://reservoirhs.vic.edu.au/booklists-4/ Click on the link for your Year level or program. Payments can be made at school via cash or credit, other the phone or via bank transfer.
  • Textbook lists for 2022 are available at https://www.northoftheyarra.com.au/reservoir.html
  • Reservoir High will operate a BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) program for students in Years 9-12 only in 2022. Students in Years 7 and 8 will continue to be provided with access to devices in each of their subjects. All students in Years 7 and 8 are required to complete the ‘Acceptable Use Agreement’ with students in Years 9-12 to complete the ‘Acceptable Use Agreement’ and ‘BYOD Agreement’ prior to use at school. These can be located at http://reservoirhs.vic.edu.au/booklists-3/ Students in Years 9-12 will be able to connect their device (at no charge) to the school network by accessing the IT Helpdesk located in the School Library at recess or lunchtimes. Please note the BYOD program does not officially start for Year 9 students until Term 2, but students can still bring their devices in from the first day of the school year.
  • Reservoir High school is a Microsoft School, with all students receiving free access to the complete Microsoft suite of apps and tools (including Office 365)- including multiple licences for multiple devices. This is accessed through the students’ school email address and password.
  • We understand the high cost of returning to school each year. For families experiencing financial hardship, please contact School Business Manager Amy Angelovski confidentially on 9466 0900 from Monday 24 January
  • A reminder that in 2022, Reservoir High is moving to a 5 period day. Students will continue to be able to access the buildings from 8.40am each morning with Period 1 starting at 8.45am sharp. Period 5 finishes the school day at 3.05pm

We look forward to seeing all of students again for the start of the new school year. Until then, enjoy the rest of the school holidays and if you need to contact me, please do so via email at andrew.mcneil@education.vic.gov.au

Regards,
