A Message from Parents & Friends

Hi Everyone,

It’s certainly turning out to be a busy term already! It's great that we’re able to be back onsite at school organising community events and fundraising for the benefit of all our children.

If you’re new to the school or the last two years have meant you haven’t engaged as much as you had hoped, but you would like to get involved in our fundraising and events, please make sure that you’re following our events Facebook page.

Bunnings BBQ - Sunday 27th February

Please come down and see us at Altona North Bunnings this Sunday where lots of volunteers will be selling sizzling sausages and drinks. All profit from this event will be added to our big fundraising pot for the year.

Big thank you to Anne Hynds for volunteering to organise this event and thank you to everyone who is giving up some of their weekend to help make this fundraiser possible.

We shall be there all day so please come and say hi!

Special Lunch - Subway - Thursday 10th March

All order forms for the Subway special lunch have now been sent home. If you haven’t received one, please see the office. All orders are due back to school by 9am on Wednesday 2nd March. Unfortunately, no late orders can be processed after this time.

Chocolate drive for the fete w/c 14th March

We are running a game of tossing some coins onto chocolate bars at our fete (we’re hopeful one of our wonderful grades will be taking this on).  We are making this a whole school challenge to ensure we have enough bars to support all our guests at the fete (we’re expecting a big turnout). The class that collects the most chocolate bars (100g bars and above - you know the ones that you buy and only say you’re going to have one piece a day, but you actually end up eating all of it in one go - ha ha) will win a movie afternoon and a bag of popcorn each. These bars are always on offer in a supermarket somewhere!

Hot Cross Bun orders - Wednesday 6th April (distribution date)

We will be running our annual Hot Cross Bun drive again this year and will be sending order forms home in March. It’s a great way to stock up the freezer with these treats before they disappear from the shelves until next year.

Icy Poles

Lemonade Icy Poles are being sold for $1.50 each, every Friday for all of TERM 1. Please make sure (especially for the younger ones) you put the money in a wallet/ purse, plastic bag or envelope as unfortunately children are losing loose coins on a weekly basis.

Volunteering

Thank you to everyone that has signed up for all the events we have listed for Term 1 on our sign up platform - time is precious so we appreciate the time you have given up. If you’re still keen to get involved, there are lots of spots available. Please click on the link to check out what’s happening. Please note that you will need your working with children’s check and proof of vaccination to be able to volunteer.

Volunteering is a great way to get involved with the school and meet some new people!

2022 AGPS Fete - 6 weeks to go!

Firstly, a big shout out to all of the Fete Committee who are working away at bringing this fete all together - it’s really exciting to see what progress is being made.

We have some really great entertainment being lined up, including Circus Fit who will be spending the day with us and allowing children to try activities. We have Lightning McQueen joining us so there is an opportunity for photos, plus fresh fairy floss and popcorn being made fresh.

Volunteering

We are in real need of more volunteer sign ups. Please have a look at the shifts on offer - lots available still and each shift is an hour and a half long. In exchange for your time, you will be given a voucher for a drink and a sausage. This link is different to the general link as mentioned above. https://signup.com/go/GLBOqRH
