Message from the Principal

St Anthony’s Parish and St Anthony’s School hold the care, safety and wellbeing of children and young people as central and fundamental responsibilities of the Church.

St Anthony’s is fully compliant with all policies in relation to Child Safety. These documents ensure compliance with the Victorian Government Child Safety Standards which took effect on 1 January 2017 and reflect our Parish's ongoing commitment to ensuring that all children are safe, happy and empowered.

Hello families and friends of St Anthony's,

We are all so excited to be back at school. 2022 may not have started the way we had hoped with the storm last Friday leaving us with storm damage across the school however, I am happy to report that we have had a lot of repair work done and Year 1/2 CH & Year 1/2 BA are now able to use their classrooms.

The carpet has been replaced in the Padua building and there will be work on the ceiling in the 5/6 PO & HE neighbourhood this weekend.

This year we welcome some new staff to our St Anthony’s community. I know that everyone will join me in welcoming Alexandra Tsimaras our Visual Arts teacher, Hester Ang who is teaching Year 1/2 AN and Suzanne Hennequin our new Year 5/6 teacher working within the 5/6 PO & HE Neighbourhood. Alexandra, Hester and Suzanne all bring such enthusiasm, joy and knowledge with them.

It has been fabulous to see everyone already enjoying being back at school, seeing their friends, teachers and their new learning spaces. Our 2022 Preps joined us at school as well and it was such a pleasure meeting all the students, parents, carers and grandparents.  We usually welcome all new parents with a morning tea however due to COVID restrictions this has been postponed until further notice. I look forward to the day we can have a cup of tea or coffee together.

2022 promises to be a year full of exciting new opportunities and great learning. This year we focus on ‘Walking with Jesus’. We are here to spread God's love and light to others and to spread His Good News. Jesus was God’s greatest gift of love to us. When we walk with Jesus, it may not make all things easy but it makes them possible. Walking with Jesus gives us assurance of his presence and power in our lives, it helps to make good choices and enables us to Love One Another.

John 13:34-35 says, “A new commandment I give to you is that you love one another: just as I have loved you. By this all people will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”

Our vision at St Anthony's is for every person to be known and to flourish, we are here to support you and if you have any questions please contact school on 9546 0044 and we will do our very best to help you.

Have a fantastic weekend.
