Tom Bible and Brooke Newberry have both been busy over the holiday break, competing in the NSW Athletics Country Championships at Maitland. Held on an Olympic grade synthetic surface, it is a great opportunity to gain more experience on the surface which is very different to grass to run or walk on. Tom competed in the longer distances and Brooke in the 3000m Race Walk event, 1500m.

Tom Bible has also just returned from a Milers Club meet at Bankstown last Saturday where he competed in the 1500m C Race coming 2nd in an impressive time of  4:19.81.

MILERS MEET: Tom Bible in the 1500m at the NSW Milers Series 3 at Bankstown last weekend.

Brooke competed in the U17 3000m race walk and came 5th out of 8 competitors in a time of 18:12.62.  She won a gold medal in the U16 1500m  race walk at the same championships.  Following Country Champs, she broke the U15 1500m race walk in a record in a time of 8.09 at the Little Athletics Regional Championships (29th & 30th January) winning Gold also in that event.

WALKING THE WALK: Brooke is a regular competitor at athletics meets in her pet event the race walk.
