Highlights of the Term

Whilst this term has been very different to what we expected, we hope the students can look back with some fond memories. There has been a lot to celebrate:

  • 100 Days of School
  • Book Week
  • RUOK Day
  • Magician Workshop
  • Travelling the globe on Webex
  • Themed Webex sessions
  • Music from Around the World workshop
  • Amazing work on Seesaw!

We are so proud of the students. They have made the best of the situation and it has been a privilege to see their faces online every day. We are very lucky! See below for a few snippets of the term:

Grade 1

While we know this term has been challenging in lots of ways, we are beyond proud of how our amazing Grade 1 students have worked this term. We want to say a huge thank you to all parents for your support this term! You have enabled your child to do their very best. We have seen great work on Seesaw, students trying hard and staying connected to their class on Webex and had some fantastic experiences online.

In Term 3 Grade 1 were able to:

- Meet an Olympian

- Dress up and celebrate Book Week

- Complete their CERES Zero Waste Online Incursion

- Learn a Bollywood Dance

- Celebrate RUOK Day

- Take part in an online cooking workshop

Please see some photos below of Grade 1's cooking workshop from Thursday of this week! We loved seeing these little chefs working together with their families to make focaccia. If you would like to try this recipe on the weekend, please see the recipe below.

Grade 2

This week our wonderful Grade 2s shared activities they do to keep their minds and bodies healthy as part of RUOK Day. Students completed activities from a Wellbeing Grid, took on a fitness challenge and shared some of their own ideas. See these below!

Last week, the children submitted jokes and riddles as part of an optional activity on Seesaw. Their jokes had us rolling with laughter and the riddles got our brains ticking. Our students are so creative!

Grade 5 and 6

What a term! We are so proud of how well the Grade 5 & 6 students have coped with remote learning. They are developing excellent skills of independence and are regularly practising their learning tasks to improve.

The students have been working so hard towards their targets all term. Well done in particular to Grade 5 - 100% of the class achieved their Accelerated Reader target!

Miss Jo has a special shout out to Ava, who called her on Teams on Thursday. Ava said, 'I've been finding these Maths questions a bit tricky so I've left them until last. Can you help me with them, now?' Miss Jo was impressed with Ava's initiative to step towards her learning, even when it's challenging.

On Friday we celebrated RUOK day. We explored the qualities of a good friend, and carried out some Directed Drawing on Webex as we know our students love drawing!
