Please note new temporary dates for Canteen in Term 3 

 

 

Canteen will be closed on Wednesdays ( but will be open on a Tuesday instead ) 

 

This will be shown on QKR 

 

Hot dogs will be available on Mondays and Tuesdays

 

These dates will be changed in QKR to avoid any confusion.

 

Winter Menu options

 

Have you noticed the new Winter food options?  You may have also noticed that certain foods are not available later in the week. If you have a favourite, the best thing to do is to order them earlier in the week, when we have plenty of supplies, so you don't miss out!

Apple Crumble

  • 1 cup Plain Flour
  • 1/2 cup, firmly packed Brown Sugar
  • 1/2 cup Rolled Oats/Quick Oats
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup Desiccated Coconut
  • 1/2 cup Shredded Coconut
  • 100g Chilled Butter, Cubed
  • 1 x 800g can of Apples or 1 kg fresh apples (see note below **)
  • Vanilla Ice-Cream, Cream or Custard to serve

Preheat oven to 180C.

Add all the dry ingredients to a bowl.

Use your fingertips to rub the butter into the flour mixture until the mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs. 

Spoon the apple into a 1.5L (6-cup) capacity ovenproof dish.

Sprinkle over the crumble mixture, covering the apple mixture.

Bake in the oven for 20-25 minutes or until golden. 

Serve with ice cream, cream, or custard.

Alternatively 

 

*Add crumble ingredients to a food processor, pulse until combined. 

Be careful to not over mix.

 

**Using fresh apples, peel, core & slice apples.

Add 100gm butter to a large frypan or saucepan, place on medium heat, add in apples 

with the juice of 2 oranges or lemons, 50gms of brown sugar or ½ cup of honey or maple syrup, ½ teaspoon cinnamon & cook until softened.

Remove from heat.

Sprinkle over ½ cup of cornflour & gently fold through till the apples have thickened slightly.

*** Fresh, Frozen, or Canned Pears, Plums, Peaches, Apricots & Berries can be all used in place of Apples.

 

**** For Gluten Free or Vegan, swap out the flour, oats & butter & use alternatives.
