COVID-19 and the current situation

We begin this week with a sense of concern about our staff and student wellbeing in these uncertain times. Thank you to our families for keeping up with the information regarding COVID-19 guidelines and in particular letting us know if your child has been in one of the two local government areas that are now in lockdown.

As of this moment:

Holy Trinity School is open and we are operating under Level 2 restrictions.

In light of this, we are currently unable to offer Learning@home. However, if your child is not at school they may be able to access their Google Classroom where their regular classroom work may be available as it would be if they were at school. Mrs Fraser, in the Library section of the newsletter, has also included online resources that could be used at home.

If your child has been in either Armidale/Guyra on or since 29 July or Tamworth LGA on or since 5 August you need to follow the NSW Health stay at home guidelines. The guidelines can be found here:

We request that students that fit into this category provide the school with a negative COVID-19 test result before returning. If your child is not at school, please inform the school of the reason so correct procedures can be followed.

We are also strongly recommending that students in Year 7-10 wear a mask for all indoor activities and supporting any student K-6 who wish to wear one.  Washing of hands and sanitising is happening regularly. We ask that families wear a mask and remain outside the gates during drop off and pick up time. Families are welcome at other times to enter the Front Office to speak with staff. Please use the QR code to enter and sanitise.

From the beginning of the term we have been slowly preparing in case Learning@home becomes necessary. We have picked up the pace in the last few days so we can be ready. Please make sure you can access the COMPASS portal as this is our main method of communication with families. Please contact the Front Office if you are having trouble with your log in. A couple of things will be different to last year:

Students in K-6 will bring a device home to complete their work on.

There will be a daily schedule for each class/year group.

There will be regular ZOOM catch-ups with class teachers.

More information to come if and when we are directed to close.

As always your support in these times is appreciated. If you have any concerns or questions please do not hesitate to get in touch with me at jrainger@arm.catholic.edu.au or by calling the school.

Please take care and stay safe.

Annual School Survey

An annual satisfaction survey of parents, students and staff will be conducted on behalf of all Catholic schools in the Diocese this term. The surveys are designed to gather feedback from parents, staff and students about our school and will be used to inform school improvement. Responses are confidential and individuals can not be identified. The surveys will be launched via email on Monday 16 August 2021 using the email addresses supplied to the school. If you do not receive an email with a link to the survey, you can access and complete the survey at the following link. https://www.research.net/r/HolyTrinityInverellPARENT2021
