Junior Class - Mrs Creek

Welcome back from our Term 3 lockdown. I can only praise you all for the fantastic parent support all my class received during this time. I am really impressed with the student’s Home Learning Packages. We have all become superstars!

Back at school this week, the focus is the Olympics, of course. Go Aussies go. We are learning about information texts and how they are not a story, but give us facts and details. Our information reports are about MASCOTS. Ask your child why we have mascots. Blending sounds to form words continues to be a focus for reading and writing. In Mathematics, numbers for money, and time are really important facts to know.

Also thank you to all parents that were able to have parent-teacher conferences via the phone this week.

Middle Class - Miss Williams

This week we have had a very cruisy week to get us back into the swing of things after missing almost two full school weeks! We began Wednesday sorting out books, worksheets and iPads, and then cheered on Nhill’s own Lucy Stephan in the Women's Coxless Four Rowing Final. We sure had a noisy classroom during that race, we couldn’t even hear the TV! We also watched Ariarne Titmus in her 400m swimming final.

We have completed a lot of work around the Olympics this week. We have each chosen a country and have been updating medal charts daily, we have also found out lots of facts about our chosen countries as well. We have started to design our own gold, silver and bronze medals and have even been writing letters to Australian athletes to send off for them to receive when they return to Australia.

Finally this week we have designed and made our own class flag to use and display at our School Olympics on Tuesday.

Little Joey

This week we continue to acknowledge the significant role of the "Brown Joeys" in the establishment of St Patrick's School, and recognised Jet with a Little Joey award.  Our Little Joeys receive a certificate, sticker and a voucher/goods donated by a local business.  We are very grateful for the contributions from our local businesses.
