Science by Doing

Students are back in the classrooms learning about Science through a range of experiments and practical activities. Year 7’s are learning about how forces cause objects to move, Year 8 students have been using microscopes to investigate the structure of cells, Year 9 students are learning about chemical change and Year 10 students are investigating chemical reactions, materials and acceleration.

Wattle Seeds Update

The Wattle Seeds have finished their 6 month stay at the International Space Station and, earlier this month, the SpaceX22 undocked from the ISS (see photos) which will bring the wattle seeds back to Earth. The wattle seeds are currently in NASA to be cleared and will be heading to Japan shortly before being sent to schools across Australia. More than 300 groups around Australia are growing the space wattle seeds to add to the global research about growing plants in space and the future of space exploration. The research will also assist with ideas for sustainability and protecting our precious plants in case of disaster.

Any interested students who would like to be involved in setting up the space seeds, and collecting data about the germination and growth of the seeds, should speak to their Science teacher or Mrs Raine.

Student Leadership Review

We would like feedback from students, parents and community members about how our student leadership structure and application process could be improved. It would be great if you could complete this short survey to let us know your thoughts (it takes about 3 minutes)  https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/Q57XQ8R
