Congratulations to the Badminton teams who travelled to Yarram on Wednesday 14th July.

We fielded two intermediate boy’s teams, an intermediate girls’ team and a senior boys’ team.

Well done to the senior team who progress to the next round on a date to be confirmed. The other teams finished second - the boys to Yarram Secondary College and the girls to Sale College.

All teams represented Maffra Secondary College by competing well, displaying sportsmanship and behaving in a responsible manner. Well done!

Thank you not only to Mrs. Hudson who transported and managed the team on the day, but to those parents who

transported and supported their children. It is fantastic to see your encouragement and involvement.

The school participated on two days in Netball. Both events were played at GRSC, Sale. The first day on Wednesday June 23th was played in clear but very cold conditions. The school was represented by Year 7 girls, two Year 8 girls and a Year 8 boys’ team. All teams were competitive and won matches. Thanks to Miss Stone for coaching the Year 7 girls and three Year 9 girls who assisted with coaching, scoring and umpiring, Shyann McKenzie, Charlotte Gell and Maddy Dalton.

On the 14th July, indoors because of the rain, two intermediate girls’ team played with enthusiasm and won half their games. Support staff were Jye Missen, team scorer and photographer, and Merran Bradley who umpired both days. After the competition was over everyone decided more training would have helped but given COVID interruptions
