Launch- Amazing Race 🦾
This week during our Launch session, Stella took part in The Amazing Race. The Amazing Race was a competition between small teams in our house. We had to work together with our teammates to complete challenges in classrooms such as trivia and Pictionary, karaoke, finding the book title that matched the code that was given to us in the library, as well as sporting activities outside including footy and basketball. Once we completed our activity as a team, we got stamps which allowed us to move onto the next challenge. Once teams completed all their challenges and ran to the oval, they were given a time, and the team with the fastest time won. The Amazing Race allowed Stella students in different year levels to form stronger relationships out of our regular Launch classroom and learn more about each other’s strengths. Thank you to all of the teachers that helped run Stella’s Amazing Race.

Schwarzkopf Hair Care & Colour Recycling Program
Hello Everyone,
These past few weeks the middle school leaders have been talking about the TerraCycle program and have joined the Hair Care and Colour Recycling Program where we collect types of hair care and hair colour packaging. We are championing sustainability and are setting up a Viewbank College community collection hub. We are going to have collection boxes inside the library where you can drop off your used hair care products for recycling! We will only accept certain types and parts of the products. A list is provided bellow.
- Clear PE gloves (these are found in most hair colour packs).
- Black gloves made from HEPE, latex or nitrile.
- All brands of empty hair shampoo and conditioner bottles, hair colour and gel jars, lids, bottles, closures, tubes, pumps, caps and stirrers made from plastics and flexible or rigid aluminium.
Please note that you have to empty any excess material from the containers you are recycling. The excess material must be emptied and disposed of in your general waste bin. All hair dye bottles and tubs (both liquid and powder) must be tripled rinsed. All hair dye tubes must have residual dye squeezed out.
If in doubt, please leave out!
Please start collecting over the Holiday break!
We look forward to seeing all your empty containers filling up our collection tubs in the Library from the beginning of Term 3!
