Dickins Room

We had a great week at Kinder with both our Wimbi and Marram classes.

Our Wimbi children had a short week due to the public holiday, they really enjoyed Friday though! We spent time reading, singing songs and engaging in some simple puppets as a group.

In the classroom, the children have been really enjoying art and creative mediums! There has been alot of paining and drawing in both of our classes, but the Wimbi children have been demonstrating some amazing ideas and new concepts in literacy too.

Through construction, the children have been extending their co-operation and communication skills, working together with increasing confidence and developing the social awareness needed within a social construct.

Our Marram class has had a fantastic week!! We have been able to engage in some amazing learning moments as a class. On Thursday we spent the morning group time further discussing and participating in learning and empathy. We used a ball of string that we rolled around to each child, creating a 'friendship web', using this, we were able to talk about how we are all connected to each other, and how our actions effect our peers in supportive or disruptive ways.

We also had moments of music and instruments- the class participated in the 'crazy conductor' song, learning about various instruments, concepts such as rhythm, tone and notes, as well as following along to the direction of the 'crazy conductor'.

It was alot of fun, the children's faces were alight with excitement and joy and they seemed to really enjoy the fact that I had hair for once!

We have been busy with our school readiness assessments for our Marram class, documenting some deep understanding of each child's current development and learning in order to facilitate the learning required for continual success. If you haven't scheduled a time with Al, please do so ASAP.

Moore Room

We had a beautiful week in the Moore room. The children have been very keen to hear the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra play the Bluey theme song again. There has been interest in all the different instruments and we got out the shakers and bells to play along with them.

Construction and puzzles have been in demand and well enjoyed. We have seen some great contributions to ideas, problem solving skills, exploration of mathematical ideas and some wonderful expression of thoughts and views as they co-construct their learning.

The children have thoroughly loved the play dough, with cinnamon and orange, and cooking with natural provisions. Bike riding, wellness exercising and some tree climbing all contribute to resilience building, risk taking and great physical development.

We hope you all have a fantastic break and look forward to a fabulous term three.

Have a wonderful week!
