Pay It Forward at WHS:

We have an expectation that each class will undertake a Pay It Forward contribution each year. Sometimes it is a whole-class enterprise, sometimes it is some enterprising members of a class who step up and take on the responsibility.

This week Olive, Eden, Emma, Amelia, Scarlet and Isla stepped up and took on the Pay It Forward challenge of baking sweet treats for a Starship Hospital fundraiser.

They baked up an absolute storm of amazing goodies. Chocolate cookies - I bought two - ; mini lemon pies - I bought one - ; chocolate cupcakes with Oreos on top (and swirly cream topping and shiny bits; vanilla cupcakes with M&Ms on top and more.

They made heaps and sold the lot, raising $687.30. This is an outstanding effort and achievement. Our sincere thanks to the girls and their families.

Here's what the girls shared:

We did the fundraiser cause Amelia's sister went through a lot of things at the Starship. Like broken bones, sickness, and more. The other reason why was that Olive went to Starship when her appendix burst and also when she broke her collarbone.

We also felt bad for all the children who have to go through all that pain to get better. We thought it would be nice to try to help with getting more equipment, more beds (rooms), and everything else that Starship Hospital needs help with.

PS:

I was so keen to taste my yummy cookies and mini lemon pie that I completely forgot to get a photo before they sold out. In my defence they did sell out very fast - but that's a poor excuse really.

My sincere apologies as the cakes and cookies were works of art and really needed their photo taken.

As always - if you have questions or concerns about anything school related - email me at macash@mac.com and I will get back to you asap

Take care all - tofa soifua.
