Gardening Club

We’ve been successful with our application for a 2022 Woolworths Junior Landcare Grant for our project, The Veggie Garden!

There will be lots of opportunities for our students to see how plants grow, observe life cycles and learn about composting.   There should also be some delicious fresh veggies to eat later in the year – we plan to mainly grow vegetables which can be picked and eaten without the need to be cooked.

Warrandyte Primary School is one of 1,054 primary schools and early learning centres throughout Australia receiving a Woolworths Junior Landcare grant to help grow our next generation of environmental champions.

The children and teachers are looking forward to working and learning from this project and we’ll keep you updated on the results, and let you know how you can get involved!  Any winter vegetable seedlings you may have spare will be gratefully received after the holidays – please contact me to let me know: claire.lambert@education.vic.gov.au

I will post an announcement on Compass when we have a date for our first ‘Gardening Club,’ when we will assemble our new vegepod, dig compost into the existing beds, and plant out some seedlings.
