NSWCPS Cross Country
Last Tuesday, John Sheedy, Ruby Cygan, Josh Spinks, Lara Torrens, Maggie Brown, Sienna Edmunds, and Ted Sheedy all travelled to Eastern Creek as part of the Armidale Diocesan Cross Country team. They all ran well and represented their school and Diocese with pride. A special mention to Josh Spinks who came 7th our of 42 competitiors and just missed out on selection into the Polding Team.
Congratulations all runners.
Primary Schools Rugby 7's Regional Finals
Last Tuesday, our senior rugby 7's team competed at the NSW Primary Schools Rugby 7's Regional Final in Tamworth. Firstly, they played Liverpool Plains 1 and lost 4-2. This game was a wake up call that they definitely needed going into the other games.
Next up was a physical Bingara side who they beat 3-2. This was a great game to lead into the final group game against a very well organised Scone Grammar side. The game went into the second half with a 0-0 score. Scone scored first despite some heroic defensive efforts from everyone, especially Kade Bush. Great heart and determination saw St Xavier's make their way up the field to eventually score! The final score was 1-1 against Scone Grammar who were the eventual winners of the tournament.
The day finished with a 3-3 draw against Manilla in the bowl final. Overall it was a good day of rugby that the team should be proud of. A special mention goes to Cooper Whitton and Henry Maslen who volunteered to play for the oppostition in the bowl final, it made an interesting and competitive end to a good day.
Thank you to the parents for driving, and Mr Mooney and Mr Crane for coaching.
