Principals Message

Dear parents and carers,
Our Living Well Learning Well representatives for this term have been liaising with their teachers to select students who are displaying particular Character Strengths in their learning or in the way they look after others and our school.
There is a great connection between the Character Strengths and the Living Well learning Well beliefs.
Character Strengths are the distinctive qualities that are the best in us. They reflect what is important to us and what we value. Research into character indicates that when we know and apply our most valued character strengths our wellbeing and life satisfaction improves. (Proctor, Tsukayama, Wood, Maltby, Eades and Linley, 2011).
At St Xavier’s we value learning and wellbeing equally so celebrating our Character Strengths is a great way to build self esteem and confidence.
Here is an example of the acknowledgement children receive when selected by their peers and teachers.
Kind regards,
Jen
