House News -  Columba

Columba Gets the Quadrella

Columba House seems to be moving from strength to strength. It has now secured the quadrella in Championships winning all four major sporting events - The Sports Bonanza, The Swimming Sports, The Athletic Sports and finally the Cross Country. Well done to all members who continually try their best for Columba House.

I would like to make a special mention of Nyawichar Machar of CO3 in Year 7 who was awarded Year Level Champion in both Swimming and Athletics and who also won the Cross Country. She is a versatile sportswoman who excels in both the sporting and classroom arena.

A Message from our Captains –

I'd like to take a moment to reflect on the recent achievements of Columba House. It's been an eventful few months for Columba. Congratulations once again to all of the participants in the Athletics Carnival and Cross Country. It is a massive achievement for the House to win all four of the House events; a lot of recognition goes out to those who took part in achieving our goals. There is great talent within Columba, and the younger students are bonding well.  Students are heavily involved, after missing the past few carnivals while at home in lockdown. Ms McNally has done a great job in encouraging House members to participate and step out of their comfort zones, which is highly appreciated.

As Term 2 comes to a close, and the beginning of the new semester commences, I'd like to congratulate everyone for picking up the rhythm once again, after finally having a sense of normality this year, let's hope we can continue down the right paths towards the end of the year. I encourage everyone to work hard and achieve their goals throughout the rest of the year, you are all capable of achieving whatever you put your minds to.

I wish everyone a happy and safe holidays!

Lennon Hughes CO6

Hi.  I hope everyone is doing well. As the first semester come to an end, I just want to say congratulations and well done to Columba House members for winning every school event this year. It's been a blast and I'm very grateful to have been a part of it, especially as House Captain. We appreciate everyone's efforts in helping us earn House points in the various carnivals. I also want to thank my Co-Captain, Lennon, for his support. I think we have led Columba House amazingly well this semester. I also just want to thank all of the teachers who helped us, especially Ms McNally for guiding us through everything. Overall, Columba has had a wonderful semester and I hope we continue this in the future.
