On Tuesday the 21st of June the Preps, Year 1, Year 2 and some select Year 3 students performed Eddie the Penguin Musical to an enthralled audience of students from Prep to Year 4, associated staff, parents and guardians in the school gym.

Eddie the Penguin Saves the World! is a musical all about environmental issues and is the perfect backdrop to teach children about environmental issues occurring around the world. The musical takes Eddie and his family of Penguins on adventures where they discover problems to solve from the pollution of our cities, excess energy used, the cause and effect of the chopping down of trees to landfill sites that are full and very very smelly!

On their journey they meet Polar Bears that are fed up with the situation, humans that are unaware of the effects of nasty pollution and energy wasting and finally a Prime Minister that is happy to support a clean-up of the cities!

The cast of Year 3 narrators and actors did a splendid job acting out the story line while the Prep, Year 1 and Year 2 students performed the songs containing the environmental messages and choreography on cue, with confidence of true professionals.

The Performing Arts team would like to congratulation all students on their wonderful performances and thank all those involved with assisting us in finally bringing this production to fruition. Looking at the feedback provided by some of the Year 1 and Year 2 students, Eddie the Penguin was a successful and highly positive experience for the students and we look forward to presenting another musical next year.
