New England Sings!

Mrs Core

Thank you for the great response to the call for singers to be a part of this exciting event to be held on Sunday the 23rd October, early next term. I am excited to be working with a great bunch of enthusiastic stars in the making, after a long time without these events and opportunities!

A few things to note at this stage-

There will be a dress rehearsal on Saturday the 22nd October in Armidale, from 11:00AM to 12:30PM. Our students will be travelling by bus, more details will follow regarding permission and other details for this event. There will be no cost to students for this trip.

The actual concert will be on Sunday the 23rd October from 11:00 AM. the students will need to provide their own transport for this day-I will let you know as soon as tickets become available, please note this is a major event and tickets will sell quickly.

A promo video has been made for your own information, please have a look and let me know if you have any questions.

We have started practising our songs, which include the subjects of Thunderbolt the bushranger and his life, a beautiful song about the aviator Nancy Bird-Walton, an inspiring song called "Stronger" written by a young Armidale composer, a reflective Anaiwan- based piece and a song about eating vegetables!! The concert concludes with a rousing rendition of "You're the Voice, accompanied by bagpipes of course!

Justine Clark from PlaySchool fame has also been commissioned to write works for the event.

Thank you again for your support, kind regards,

Shanny Core
