What's Happening
I am thrilled to announce that we have been gifted a brand new Rosa bus with double wheelchair access, towbar and free registration for a year by Variety, the children's charity.
The Anson Street School Excursion and Transport Supporters (ASSETS) group put forward an application to apply for a Sunshine Coach grant and we have been successful !!! The bus should arrive from Japan in August and then it will be fitted with the wheelchair access and towbar ready for delivery in October or November.
Our existing bus which was also donated by Variety is 19 years old, so the ASSETS group has been meeting each term to try and come up with ideas to raise the approximately $150 000 needed for a new bus. One of the fundraising ideas is the Return and Earn project, which to date has raised $700. We currently have about $23 000 in savings that is used to support transport costs for student use.
Thank goodness for Variety, as without this generous donation we would not be able to take students on longer excursions out of Orange, such as to the Schools Spectacular.
🌟 THANK YOU VARIETY 🌟
