OPEN NIGHT

FESTIVAL OF THE ARTS

Thursday 17th November 5pm-7pm

This year’s Open Night will transform LNPS into a Festival of the Arts.

We would like our students to unleash their inner creativity and design the Open Night poster which will be used as the poster for advertising the event. Attached is the advertising poster for the competition and student competition entry slip which outlines the success criteria.

Families are encouraged to begin having discussions or dialogue about what the poster might entail. The students will need to briefly explain how their poster represents the LNPS ARTS programs.

The poster competition will run from Monday 12th September until Monday 17th October. The winner will be announced on Friday 21st October.

All the relevant information about the competition is available from the Library.

Remind your child/ren that this is about THEM designing the poster. They can discuss their design ideas with an adult to receive feedback, however the poster must be designed and created solely by them.

The panel will only accept ONE POSTER ENTRY PER STUDENT.

We are looking forward to seeing the innovative and creative posters students will submit.

Please see Mirjana in the Front Office if you have any further questions.

Class Placement 2017

Over the coming weeks and the first few weeks of Term 4 the process to place students into classes for 2017 will be occurring.

Classes are formed according to:

  • The number of students at each year level
  • The Education Department’s recommended teacher to student ratio as per the funding model.
  • Staff knowledge about student's educational needs.
  • Information provided by parents that address the LNPS Class Placement Guidelines (please see attached)

If parents desire to provide further educational information to support this process please use the LNPS Class Placement Guidelines. Information or requests that do not meet the criteria outlined in the guidelines will not be taken into consideration. Please email

tyson.grinham428@schools.sa.edu.au  or mirjana.grubor793@schools.sa.edu.au by Friday 30th September.

2017 Enrolments

We are now looking at our enrolment numbers for 2017. To help this process run smoothly, if you have siblings starting next year and have not yet completed an enrolment form, please see the Front Office staff.

If you know of families in or out of zone who are looking to enrol, please urge them to contact us about the enrolment process. This will enable us to determine how many families, who reside out of zone, can be offered a position at LNPS.

Survey of Wellbeing and Student Engagement

Students in Year 6 and 7

Students in our school have been invited to take part in a survey being conducted in Term 4 of this year.

The purpose of the survey is to seek students’ views about their wellbeing and their engagement with school.  Across the State, years 6, 7, 8 and 9 students will participate in the Survey of Wellbeing and Student Engagement. The information collected from the survey will help inform work in the education system and broader community to help improve young people’s health and wellbeing.

The survey asks young people about their:

1) Social and Emotional Wellbeing: About you;

2) School Relationships and Engagement: About your relationships and learning in school; and

3) Physical Health and Wellbeing: About your health, lifestyle and after school activities.

Students’ answers to the survey will be kept confidential – no one will use the results to identify individual students.

Teachers will arrange for students to undertake the survey during one or two class lessons. Students will be asked if he or she would like to participate and will be free to withdraw at any time. You may withdraw your child from the survey at any time.  If you wish to remove your child’s name from the participant list please contact the school within two weeks of receiving an informatin letter (going out to families Wednesday 14th September 2016).
