Students vs Staff Basketball Game

On the afternoon of June 14, 2022, the Lalor North Secondary College Gym once again permeated with excitement as the crowds gathered to watch the highly anticipated Senior Student vs Staff Basketball Game. 

For days, teachers and students alike have been waiting for this massive showdown, and what a showdown it was. 

Anxiously anticipating a true game of skill, the players on both sides didn’t disappoint. Jack displayed off his height as he continuously grabbed rebounds from the ring, but the tall Mr Chapman also made his presence felt on the court as he contested rebounds. 

Leo and Tangi  showed great finishes as they made several lay-ups. Mrs Benincasa wasn’t going to let the students outshine the teachers as she demonstrated her great basketball skills and scoring several baskets and even a few 3s for the teachers. 

But it was Mrs Lemire and Mr Tucker who demonstrated true basketball skills as they generously passed and shared the ball with their teammates. The other teacher, Mr Hiscoke, was alright.

From one end of the court to the other, baskets were being scored one after the other. 

At the end of the first half, the score was Teachers- 15 and Students - 21. Could youth and determination hold on to their lead or would the teachers win out?

As the clock ticked down to the final seconds, Mr Tucker scored the final shot of the game, but in the end, youth outperformed experience with the final score of Teachers 28 and Students 51.
