Looking Ahead

As we come to the end of Term 3, it's now time to look ahead to all that Term 4 brings. For many of our class it will mean a conclusion to their time in Primary School and thoughts begin towards what Secondary School brings. There is still much to attend to in Term Four so I'd encourage all of our students to build on their stamina and resilience to end the year on a high!

In the meantime, I too have to draw on my own stamina and resilience as I will be heading off to compete at the Ironman World Championships in Hawaii at the end of week one next term. There, I will need to complete a 3.8km ocean swim, a 180km bike ride, then run a full, 42km marathon, all in the heat and humidity that comes with such an exotic location. While I'm away, Miss Judy and Miss Lindsey will look after our class, so our students will have minimal disruption to their routine. I'm looking forward to returning with a tale or two to tell.

In the meantime, I'd like to wish everyone a safe and happy holiday, and I'll see you all when I get back!

BOOK WEEK

This year's theme for Book Week was 'Dreaming With Eyes Open'. I was really pleased to see the effort so many of our senior students put into their costumes and the enthusiasm in which students participated. The level of creativity and effort that was put into the costumes across the 5/6 year level was impressive. We have many eager readers in our classroom so it was a great opportunity to describe the qualities of their favorite characters with their classmates.

Throughout the week, the students were invited to engage in a range of activities including our Book Week Parade, reading from selected Children's Book Council short-listed books and completing an activity that connected to the book with the 3/4's, and watching a live performance by Story Quest. Hopefully it has renewed their interest in reading to make them life-long readers. I know they certainly enjoyed the week.

Camp Reflections

The students spent some time writing reflections on their favourite experience while on Camp. Clearly, everyone had an enjoyable time and no doubt have memories that will stay with them for some time.
