Religious Dimension

I have kept many reflections over the years that have been shared with staff in the many schools I have worked in. I was looking for a bit of inspiration for this newsletter; I wanted to share something with you all about Father’s Day. I found this!

Today is Indigenous Literacy Day. To celebrate this the FIRE Carriers of St Joseph’s will be organising a 2nd Hand Book Stall to raise money for the Opening the Doors Foundation.

Who are the FIRE Carriers? (Friends Igniting Reconciliation through Education) We have been commissioned to help raise awareness and appreciation for Aboriginal and Torre Strait Islander cultures and raise awareness of reconciliation in our school community.

The Opening the Doors Foundation is an Aboriginal-led community organisation supporting educational opportunities for Aboriginal children. The Foundation enables Aboriginal students to participate fully and equally in education, and supports their families to make their own choices about their children’s future.

What we need?

Any books that you no longer read and would like to donate for our 2nd Hand Book Stall. All books that are donated can be put in the tubs in your learning spaces. So start bringing them in anytime!

When is the book stall?

The Book stall will be held in the last week of term 3. It will be a gold coin donation.

Thank you for your help and support
