Reports

It is coming to the end of the first semester and Mid Year Progress Reports will be distributed to families on Friday 28th June.

Reports to families describe the student’s achievement of the learning outcomes expected for the reporting period, what they are doing well and what their next steps are for growth.

When discussing your child’s report, the indicator of effort should be considered along with the achievement level. We believe it is important that parents give weight to the effort. Generally there will be a close connection between the achievement and the effort.

Also it is a great opportunity to talk about their Student Comment. These comments are where students have the opportunity to reflect on goals they have set through out the first two terms and progress they have made.

Over the past weeks I have had the pleasure of reading a number of Student Comments and it is inspiring to read about the goals they have achieved and the next steps they are planning. This reflection links back to Goal Setting Meetings and the vital role they play in supporting student growth.

A child's report can bring feelings of joy, excitement, and pride; it can also cause concern, frustration, and uncertainty. In either case, the reporting period marks a new beginning to set goals as well as reflect on past work habits, achievements, and challenges.

Read whatever you like, as much as you can, in August. This year’s MS Readathon will be a magical quest, and the adventure kicks off on August 1 and wraps up on August 31. Best of all, by joining our quest, not only will you awaken a love of reading, you will also be helping kids who have a parent with multiple sclerosis.
