TIRKANDI  LIBRARY  NEWS

Term 2 Week 8

Reading is such an invaluable skill, but our Tirkandi library space offers many more exciting learning opportunities for children to build upon such as enquiry, discovery, problem solving and imagination. Children of all ages are able to enjoy our open-plan space and revel in its endless learning possibilities. It is great to see classes come through each day and enjoy Tirkandi  with their peers.

It has been wonderful being a part of each child’s reading adventure this Term, as I am learning a lot about their individual reading interests and I am discovering that everyone is on their own special reading journey.

A brand new Scholastic order has just arrived in our library and are on the shelves ready for your child to browse through. It is always rewarding to see their faces light up with excitement when we have new books on offer!

The CBCA Shortlisted books for 2019 are still on display but are now ready for borrowing so children can begin to familiarise themselves with these fantastic titles before the Book Week event coming up in August.

PREMIER’S READING CHALLENGE 2019

I have recently created a count-down poster for the Premier’s Reading Challenge so children can visually see how many days they have left to complete their challenge. The last day to hand in completed sheets is the 6th September 2019.

Please feel welcome to visit Tirkandi and say hello! If you have any questions regarding any library matters, please do not hesitate to ask me. Just a reminder of my library hours during the week:

Monday, Tuesday, Friday – Before school

Wednesday, Thursday – After school
