Sub School News

Sub School

The Sub Schools are well and truly into the second stage of the year busily getting through content preparing for progression into the next year level or the next stage in their life.

A special mention goes out to all students in both sub schools who achieved awards at the awards ceremony completed earlier this term. Well done to all and we hope you continue to demonstrate a dedicated approach to your studies.

City Experience

The year 9 cohort spent 3 days in the city exploring the most liveable city in the world visiting laneways and other attractions, being exposed to the vast array of cultures present in Melbourne and experiencing different foods on offer or in some case just another McDonalds restaurant. A fun time was had by all and as usual the students represented the college with pride and integrity.

Pathways

Year 9, 10 and 11 students decided on pathway options for the coming year/s. VCAL or VCE? VET or No VET? These were some of the decisions students and families faced before coming to a final decision surrounding the daunting prospect of a possible career pathway. Students who haven’t completed forms should ensure they get them into the front office as soon as possible to ensure they don’t miss out on any subjects they would like to study in 2019.

Maintaining Momentum

Our Year 12 VCE students are nearing the end of their year and are encouraged to maintain their dedication to their studies as the end of year draws closer. The last week of this term will be dedicated to the indicative exam period.

A period designated for our year 12 students attempting VCAA exams from previous years under exam conditions as an indication of where they are at in terms of their study and in what areas they need to improve to ensure they get the best possible marks.

Year 12 VCAL students are knocking off all their outcomes in an attempt to close out their senior certificates as soon as possible. They are busily demonstrating competencies in different areas ensuring they are job ready for 2019.

As always we encourage all students to attend school on a regular basis to ensure they are making the most of the educational opportunities afforded to them by the college. An attendance of 95% or higher is needed for students to make the desired growth in their education across the year.
