Positive Climate for Learning

Positive Climate for Learning

Thank you for all your support and especially for all of our students who actively got involved in making artefacts demonstrating the Home Expectations, a few are shown below. It is amazing to see our school community coming together during these unprecedented times.

We hope students will continue to demonstrate our school values of Care, Collaboration and Commitment at home. We know that if we want students to display certain behaviours, we need to explicitly teach and model this behaviour. Staff and students have been working hard to model this to our school community and all of the videos are available to watch on the Positive Climate for Learning Site in the Armstrong Creek School Launch Pad.

Check out the incredible ACS Positive Climate for Learning site.

With lots of great tips for developing a Positive Climate for Learning at home and celebrating the great work being achieved remotely. You can access the Positive Climate for Learning Site through the ACS Launchpad or

Our whole school focus will be to demonstrate Care, and specifically, that ‘We look after each other’. During these extraordinary times, we need to look after each other even more than we would normally do.

This is a good time for self-compassion and showing compassion towards others. So please use this time to show Care for each other.

Mother's Day

TOP SECRET – For the eyes of students ONLY!

Mother’s Day is on Sunday 10th May. In our Week 4 Google Classrooms there will be a ‘top secret’ Mother’s Day lesson with a challenge for you kids to complete at home! Make sure you watch it – and DON’T TELL YOUR MUM!

In Week 4, make sure you also log in to the ‘Specialists’ lessons as Leanne will be uploading a special Mother’s Day art activity as well.

Lots to keep you busy in Week 4!

Student Voice

Here at Armstrong Creek School, Student Voice is very important.

One way students are able to express themselves and take action, is through nominating and voting on the lunchtime clubs they want operating. So to continue this trend, we are delivering our clubs remotely.

Check out the timetable and clubs you might choose to have a go at this week and  send through photos of yourselves and any other suggestions of clubs you would like to participate in remotely.

Have fun clubbers!

3-4 Learning Community

Students in our 3-4 Learning Community have been very busy with the start to Term 2.

In maths we have been focused on learning about money, how to recognise different coins, sort them into groups and add the group to find the total. Cadi N shared her examples of finding two different ways to show a total of money.

We’ve also been talking about the significance of ANZAC day. Lilly C shared a beautiful piece of art she drew out the front of her home to celebrate and commemorate our Anzacs.

We also learnt about the ‘Roller Coaster of Emotions’. Layla M made a very creative video about her day, and how she moved through the different zones of regulation. We were very proud of how Layla reflected on each zone!

Below is another fantastic piece of work created by one of our students Gray, reminding us of the importance of washing our hands!

We are really enjoying our morning check ins with our teachers and seeing all our friends on the computer. Sometimes we read a story together as a class and sometimes we chat about the things we’ve been doing at home.
