Principal's Report

Dear Parents, Families and Community members,

I hope you have all had another great week, one thing that seems to have not changed inthis whole COVID-19 and Remote Teaching and Learning World is how fast the weeks are going by!

This is our first Newsletter of Term 2, following our 'first ever' Virtual Assembly' last week. We plan to alternate assemblies and Newsletters each week during term 2.

2021 Preps: Virtual Information Session

We welcome parents of prospective 2021 Armstrong Creek School Prep students to join us in our very first ‘remote’ information session!

Typically at this stage of the year we would open up the doors and invite our families in for a tour and a chat. Obviously we are not able to do that at the moment, so instead we are offering a virtual session to showcase the school and hear about our teaching and learning programs.

This session is designed for you to:

 Meet and hear from the Principal and Assistant Principal

 Have a virtual peek into our learning communities

 Learn what a ‘day in the life’ of a Prep child looks like at our school

 Hear from our current school captains

 Submit any questions you may have

 Find out how to enrol your child for 2021

Current families, please share with your local friends and families!

Virtual Cross Country

What does a school do when Cross Country is cancelled by COVID-19?

Run it virtually of course!!

Please watch the video below where the creative thinking of PE Teacher Arron will guide you through our 2020 Virtual House Cross Country!

There will be a google form on the ACS Launchpad to complete when you have done the course - lots of house points up for grabs!

Complete the course by Friday 15 May, 2020 and fill in the google form to earn your House Points. This is a great family activity to do together!  The winning house will be announced at Assembly on Friday 22 May, 2020.

PACC - Community / Mother's Day Art Activity

Thanks to our wonderful thinking and efforts of Parent and Community Club (PACC), ACS is collaborating with Warralily Cockatoo Cafe and Uforic Cafe to provide a very special morning tea and art display for the residents at TLC Warralily Gardens Residential Aged Care Centre.

The very talented Leanne (Art Teacher extraordinaire) has provided some more details via the attached flyer and video below.

In lieu of a Mother's Day stall this year, this is just one way we can show 'CARE' and support our community!

Specialists

The Specialist team will be meeting with students between 1pm and 3pm from next week onwards.

Please make sure you have a look at your child’s Google Classroom to see what dates and times the specialist team will be meeting with your child.

The Specialists teachers will be meeting with students to discuss the work that they are or have been doing in PE, Art and Performing Arts.

Families are able to access the Specialist page via the ACS Launchpad.

School Photos

Official School Photos have been rescheduled from later this term until Tuesday 6 October 2020 due to COVID-19.

Families will be given information on how to order individual, class and sibling photos closer to the date.

School Captain Challenge

Last week the School Captains announced our 'Shake It Off' challenge during our virtual assembly.

This is a reminder from our School Captain Mikayla, to do the Shake It Off challenge at home, when you are doing it make sure you have loads of fun and be creative.

Email your videos to Dehlia at armstrong.creek.school@edumail.vic.gov.au .
