Comments by Bridget and Lily

Picture story books are fun for all readers but they are particularly good for beginning readers in Foundation and Year 1 as some of them don’t have many words and the vocabulary is easier. However, there are also harder picture story books that are challenging for older readers.

Picture books are fun and encourage children to read. This is important because we need to read to get a good job or to get a good grade!

There is a really good variety of picture story books available, but one of the best things about them is reading Dr Seuss stories.

Comments by Kayla, Chianne, Erin & Keisha

The good thing about picture story books is that the pictures can help you understand what is happening if you are unsure of what the words mean. The font is also big and so it is easier to see and read the words.

Comments by Jackson, Patrick and Darby

Reading picture story books is good because the pictures allow you to see what is happening and you can tell from them what type of book it is.

It is important for children to read because it can take you along the way in life; picture story books can be funny and you can learn from them.

Comments by Lloyd, Chris and Jake

It is easier to read a nice short book that doesn’t have too many words or pages and it really helps little kids – and older ones – to look at the pictures that go with the story.

Comments by Declan, Aiden and Cody

Picture story books are good to read because the pictures help us understand when the words are difficult.

Comments by Tyler and his little buddy Lil

Picture story books are great for older readers to share with younger readers – it is easy to find something they will be interested in.
