  • All Numurkah Primary School Uniform items and N.P.S. School Bags are available from McPherson's Mensland in Numurkah (preferred suppliers). Relevant items come with the school logo already embroidered on them.
  • Parents may request extra embroidery on items (eg names). The school recommends students’ names be: only their first name and initial of their surname.
  • At the start of each year, Yr. 6 students can order specially-designed polo-shirts and bomber jackets to wear during their final year of Primary School
  • Art Smock..... is required by all children for Art/Craft lessons.  An old thick shirt is suitable.  Good school clothes need to be protected from paint and other art materials.
  • The school has a limited range of good second-hand clothes that families can access to supplement their supplies.

NB. On the odd occasion when a child is unable to wear the school uniform, parents are asked to send along an explanatory note to the class-teacher.

Additional Dress-Code Information

As stated in the school’s Student Dress Code policy, students should arrive at school neatly and safely presented (physical appearance, clothing, footwear), appropriate to primary age students.

The following guidelines are to be followed so that all students present themselves in a manner that is safe, presentable, modest and does not bring undue attention to oneself (ie for show-off purposes):

  • For students to be neatly presented the uniform needs to be: Regularly washed and stain-free whenever possible, free of rips, tears or frays and where possible holes or rips to be repaired
  • No elaborate or unsafe jewellery will be accepted: No more than 2 pairs of ear-rings that are small studs or close fitting sleepers (i.e. Ear-rings that are considered a safety issue at play, etc, particularly open dangling ones will not be accepted). One metal or plastic bangle or bracelet (that doesn’t interfere with safe work or play activities). One wristwatch. One necklace (that doesn’t interfere with safe work or play activities). Nose rings or studs, eyebrow rings or studs, (or any other body/facial piercing), choker necklaces, bolts will not be accepted.
  • Hair colouring and style will be “within reason” and “not noticeable”, eg. no elaborate/extreme/unnatural colouring or styles
  • No excessive facial make-up (especially mascara, lipstick), or elaborate nail-polish will be accepted.
  • Head Bands/ties to be black or bottle green.
  • For health & safety reasons, it is encouraged that long hair be tied back, particularly during sessions such as art, phys. ed., sport.
  • Under–garments such as T-shirts, boxer shorts, etc. should not extend beyond the hem-lines of the outer school uniform items.
  • Long-sleeve t-shirts worn under school polo-shirts should match the school uniform colour (green or black).
  • Winter coats/parkas, scarves, gloves, beanies, etc. are not to be worn inside (unless a particularly cold day & instructed by class teacher). The school colours of black or bottle green are preferable for the above clothing.
  • Sun Smart sunglasses (ASA approved, UV filtered) will be encouraged at recesses, lunchtimes and during sport from April 30th to September 1st.  However, during designated times (e.g. instruction, where eye-to-eye contact is required) the class-teacher may ask students not to wear them. The glasses are to be made of safe materials. The school reserves the right to not allow individuals or groups to wear these items. It will be the students’ responsibility to look after them.
  • No high-heel shoes or thongs will be accepted. Sandals need to have appropriate strapping across the foot and around the ankles. (Even on Out-of-Uniform days). Shoelaces need to be appropriate and matched to shoe color.
  • No skins/leggings to be worn at school with summer or winter dresses/skirts/skorts unless approved by the Principal for medical, religious or cultural reasons.
  • Examples of modest presentation incudes: Shorts that are not too tight, short or revealing revealing. Dress hemlines at appropriate length. Pants that do not slip down below waistline.
