HPSC Swimming Carnival

Monday March 4th

Monash Aquatic Recreation Centre

The Whole College Swimming Carnival was held on Monday March 4th at the Monash Aquatic Recreation Centre.

The weather turned it on for us, with a beautiful warm and sunny day. All students got involved with the day, whether it was in the water competing or cheering on their friends from the sidelines in their house colours.

The highly anticipated Staff V Students race was a close one, and it was fantastic to see such excitement around the pool from both students and staff, but ultimately the Staff came out victorious!

Well done to all students who competed throughout the day, especially those 22 students who won their races and made it through to the next stage, Division Swimming.

The House results from the day are

1st: Regans

2nd: Somerville

3rd: Fordholm

4th: Cairns

Sports News!

Senior Girls Softball hit it out of the park!

On Monday the 25th February the Senior Girls Softball team competed at Sweeny Reserve. They only had one game against Alkira but that did not stop the girls from preparing hard. They had been training twice a week in preparation which contributed to their dominating 14-1 win.

There were excellent displays of teamwork from both the softball veterans in the team as well as the new players! The girls were all excellent ambassadors for the College and showed passion for the game of softball.

Aimee pitched well as well as hitting 2 home runs, Isabeau was essential in the field, Shyla hit a homerun and Sediqa, Zainab, Zahra, and Rahila all got lovely hits! Whilst Cassidy and Felicity were strong in the field. Jacqui held down the fort at first base and Nat caught the whole game despite being sunburnt and sore from playing in a tournament the weekend before.

A big thanks to Doug Arnold who came down and helped me warm up the girls.  The next round will be in May, which we are all very excited for!

Intermediate Boys and Girls give it their best shot!

On Monday the 25th of February, our intermediate boys and girl’s teams were chosen to represent our school in a Volleyball tournament that was held at Casey Stadium.

We competed against six other schools in the district. We played against some highly skilled teams, and although it was daunting, we gave it our best shot.

We’re all so proud of ourselves for working together as a team and demonstrating great sportsmanship. It was such a pleasure to have the opportunity to represent Hampton Park Secondary.

Although both teams just missed out on making it through to the next round, it was overall a great experience and was so much fun just getting to compete with our friends.

HPSC Senior Girls’ Volleyball Team win Local competition!

The Senior Girls’ Team played in the interschool volleyball competition on Monday 25 February.

Our team who included; Sofia Dela Cruz, Leilua Faleafa, Ula Falelua Tauaa (Captain), Julia Kaitani, Lia Kennach, Carmel Kilisi (Vice Captain), Laurice Madrid, Charlotte Poko, Litara Posi and Abigail Tipuia, played very well and I’m proud to report that we made it to the next round.

We won games played against Narre Warren P-12, Alkira, Cranbourne East and Cranbourne. The last game was the most challenging as the girls started to get very tired.

I am super proud for the way the team played and worked together.

Good luck HPSC girls in the next round of competition!

HPSC Senior Boys’ Volleyball Team take out second place!

The HPSC Boys’ Team consisting of Gericho Landicho, Henry Fanene, Leroy Lesoa Kalolo, Jordan Meni, Armand Rebojo, Ali Sina Rezaei, Leo Savelio and Ryan Tanielu lost their first game to a very experienced Narre Warren P-12 team in the recent Interschool competition.

The boys quickly regrouped and won all of their remaining matches convincingly against the local schools.

Their volleyball skills, team play and support of each other was amazing to watch.

Congratulations boys!
