Mrs Francis Scuderi
Dunhelen Class Captains Semester 2
The Dunhelen Class Captains for Semester 2 were awarded their badges in Assembly last week and I would like to congratulate the following:
I look forward to seeing their contributions to the classroom.
College Musical
I do hope that many of you got the chance to see the College musical ‘Spamalot’. It was truly a fantastic production and all students should be proud of their achievements in this area. While we had a few very tired Dunhelen students, it was a pleasure to see them participate either on the stage or backstage. They should be very proud of their contribution and commitment to the production.
2020 Web Elective Preferences
Students should soon be receiving their web elective preferences for 2020. I encourage you to sit and discuss these choices with your child. It is important that you read through the description offered for each elective and make a sound decision. Students should not be choosing electives because they want to be with their friends as there is no guarantee that this would happen. It is important that students choose wisely as it is often not possible, due to timetable constraints and full electives, to change their elective next year. Even their last preference should be something they are interested in.
Parent Teacher Interviews
This week the first round of Parent Teacher Interviews took place. There will be a second round on Thursday 15 August. If you have not yet made an appointment with your child’s teacher, some staff may still have some time available. If you are unable to schedule an interview, please feel free to call the relevant teacher for a phone conversation or to make an alternative appointment time.
Swimming Lessons
Students are now attending swimming lessons for PE. Please note that these lessons are part of the curriculum and students should be participating. As you know, it is vital that we keep up awareness of the water at all ages. Notes for non-participation should be written for valid reasons only. If your child is struggling to participate, please discuss this with their PE teacher; working together we may be able to come up with a solution.
