School Board

School Board Report

It was great to see a full screen of board members at this month’s School Board Meeting held again, over a google meet. It is amazing to see how well the school is adapting to stage four restrictions and the continuation of home learning.

The Board would like to extend its congratulations to Tom Jackson on the birth of baby Nora and we wish Naomi Ryan the very best as she headed off on maternity leave. It was great to see consistency with Julia McPhee joining the school community.

The building plans are currently with Council awaiting approval. We hope to see this moving along soon and we thank Verona for her persistence and leadership on this project.

We were fortunate to be joined by Shannon Kearns who presented the Learning and Teaching Pedagogical Framework.  St John’s is very fortunate to have passionate teachers that develop on existing frameworks and make them individual to our school needs. It is important to note that the teacher’s spend copious amounts of time behind the scenes ensuring a well-developed program for all our students and we are grateful for their ongoing efforts.

Please remember to reach out if you need assistance, the outreach program is available to all and Verona and all the staff are working hard to engage with all families.

Stay safe and we hope to see a return to school in Term Four!
