CLONTARF ACTIVITIES

Celebrating our top attenders with a day of surfing down at Killalea State Park. The first day of surfing saw members from Year 7-9 enjoy the ocean, wind and waves. On the second day of surfing our senior Clontarf students had the same experience. All the young men that attended had achieved over 85% school attendance for the term and have been great participants in class. Well done to these young men.

Clontarf training morning with our Lake Illawarra High teachers. A great morning running around with the teachers doing various games and activities. We had great support from the teachers and Clontarf lads. The training morning was filled with plenty of laughs and a bit of banter and teachers and students coming together for a bit of fun and physical activity. This was followed by a healthy breakfast in the Clontarf room. The young men did a great job in showing the teachers Clontarfs' spirit and good sportsmanship. The students also took pride in what they have created within the Clontarf space. Thanks to all the staff that came along and made it a great morning.

Afternoon Fishing Club has been running every Tuesday after school. So far the fish are winning, but our young fishermen know that this will soon change. The young men have figured out how to tie knots, bait their hooks and, most of all, enjoy some time outdoors chasing some fish. Plenty of laughs and snags along the way.

Year 12 students going through the annual Clontarf Employment Forum. This year completed via Zoom. These young men had the chance to talk with some of Clontarf foundation partners and ask them questions about what it takes to become a professional in their field. We had the pleasure of talking to partners such as Blackwoods, Kmart, NRL, and Australia Defence Force, just to name a few. Hopefully a few connections were made with the young men. It seemed to prompt a lot of the young fellas to start thinking about what is beyond the Lake Illawarra High School gates. Well done, young men.
