Parents & Friends

Father's Day

Due to Covid-19 restrictions, we are unable to run the traditional Father’s Day Breakfast. As a result, Parents and Friends volunteers have looked for new ways we can support Fathers. We have contacted a range of local shops again to see if we can source any discounts or products or experiences that might be of interest to local families who celebrate Father’s Day. We hope this might give local families another opportunity to celebrate Father’s day while supporting the businesses in our wider community.

OPS Community Cookbook

This year Parents and Friends are organising a new event – the ‘OPS Community Cookbook’! Our aim is to create a unique cookbook for each Year Level, with recipes chosen and prepared by all the children.

We hope this is something that families will really enjoy taking part in! The aim of the cookbook is for children to share a recipe with their classmates that they enjoy eating, that is not too complicated. It might be a recipe that represents a favourite food from your culture, or just a recipe that they like to make.

For families with more than one child at OPS, you are welcome to send in a different recipe for each child OR just use the same recipe for every child in your family.

The template, instructions and an example of what your final recipe might look like were sent via Compass earlier this week and are also attached below.

To be included in the cookbook, you will need to email your completed recipe (on the template) to p.and.f.ormond@gmail.com

To ensure your recipe is included in the cookbook, please send them to us by  Friday16th October

If you have any questions or issues using the template, please contact us and we will do our best to help. We want to give everyone the chance to take part!

When each Year Level’s cookbook is completed and compiled by P&F, we will send out a digital copy to parents for the whole family to enjoy. There will also be an option to receive a hard copy of the recipe book too (more details will follow soon). We hope that the children from each Year Level will enjoy cooking some of the different recipes that their classmates have included!

We look forward to receiving your recipes soon! Happy cooking everyone!
