Wellbeing

Thank You
To say it has been a difficult term would be an understatement, but amongst everything we are all doing our best in extreme circumstances. Our staff, who have worked tirelessly during the term, our amazing parents who have had to juggle everything to support themselves and their families. But one big thank you to the Student Leaders, who have done an amazing job over this term.
It is all really hard for lots of people for different reasons, but our Student Leadership Team have consistently given me ideas and thoughts to support the wellbeing of our community.
- There has been Danielle writing our Learner Qualities Rap; which Danielle, Tayla, Riley and Kate are developing this week.
- Our Wellbeing Slide Show went out to 256 schools across Victoria [One Leader sent this email - 'To the amazing student leaders of St Bernard's, thank you for your thoughtful Wellbeing Slide Show. We have used some of your ideas to support the students in our school. Thank you so much for organising this.' ]
- Father's Day/ Mother's Day/ Grandparents Day and Olivia's jar idea was taken on by at least 12 families that I know of.
- RUOK? Day list of things you could do today. With Samuel spending time adding more things to the list [One Parent sent this email today - 'To whoever thought of organsing the RUOK? Day List of things to do. It made me think and we are having a ZOOM family dinner tonight because of your thoughtfulness'.]
- Social Groups was an idea that Lucas and Ruby started out with. Now Tayla, Kate and Riley have taken on running some of these really important sessions. [One Parents sent this email last week - 'The Lego Group, on a Monday, allows our son, who is an only child, to spend time with others. He is so excited that he gets up early on a Monday morning because St Bernard's offers this opportunity'.]
- Healthcare Workers letters have been received with one parent showing a nurse she works with, who cried because the letters were so thoughtful.
- Virtual Experiences, St Bernard's Day, Wintringham, Over the Holidays. With Wintringham emailing that 'The St Bernard's Clip runs in our common area and the residences love watching it on the television. Thank you for thinking of us'.
- I just wanted to say how proud and privileged it is to work with such a caring, thoughtful, creative and pastoral group of student leaders.
