It was great to see so many students, families and staff from the primary sub school wear their house colours, get involved and get active! A wide range of HPE activities were accomplished today including dance, bike and scooter riding, stretching and ball games, athletics, Tai Chi, yoga and even the preparation of healthy meals to share with family.

Great work everyone!

We recently celebrated the National Literacy Week's 'Dress Up as your Favourite Book Character Day'.

Whether at home or at school, apart from having fun dressing up, we did lots of cool literacy and numeracy activities based on our book characters.

Thank you to our teachers for organising our activities. We had a great time and can't wait to do this next year!

Secondary Sub School News

JSA are looking to have some feedback and reflection from our students this Term. The reflection could be on learning tasks, experiences working remotely as well as reflections on what they want to achieve in the next year.

Next Term we will be sharing the JSA Career Action Plan (CAP) with all students and families so we can support you all to be part of the journey to help your child realise their potential. We will discuss the CAPs during our Term 4 SSG’s. All Year 7-12 students in Victoria have a CAP that is revisited throughout the year. Please contact me if you would like some more information on the CAP process.

Wacky the Wombat’s Camp-Out Challenge

Information relates to ALL JSA Students!

Thursday, September 17th (Week 10)

Do you like building cubbies in your bedroom?

Do you like camping?

Guess what….

As you can see on the attached flyer, on Thursday, September 17th, the Blackwood Special Schools Outdoor Education Centre is challenging all students enrolled in Victorian Special Schools to enjoy a campout …… in their bedrooms!

Blackwood Staff will also be camping in a bedroom Cubby on the same night.

The staff have asked JSA how many students would like to participate in this super enjoyable and interactive idea.

All you need is to:

  • ask our families to email the school to notify us of your child’s permission to participate in the Camp-Out to inform Blackwood of our final numbers at JSA
  1. Primary Sub School: Elizabeth.Pitruzzello@education.vic.gov.au
  2. Middle Sub School: Daniel.Moloney@education.vic.gov.au
  3. Secondary Sub School: Mark.Taylor@education.vic.gov.au
  • invite participants to email a photo or a video directly to Blackwood of them having fun setting up their cubbies (all details are provided on the flyer attached)

All participants will be given a certificate of participation and chance to do something that is both different and heaps of fun at home.

We encourage lots of our JSA students to join in.

Please remember to contact us to confirm your participation ASAP.
