No Waste November

No Waste November Green Dress Day

As part of No Waste November, the primary students participated in Green Dress Day, a fundraiser to support sustainable initiatives at the College. Students were encouraged to attend school in free dress, ensuring their outfits contained mainly green colours.  Mrs Hill (staff) and Ane Van der Westhuizen( Year 7) were the best dressed. The King's College is excited to support our students as they seek to create awareness and positive change for the environment.

Waste Grant Project

As a WasteSorted School, we were pleased to be the recipients of a WasteSorted grant this year to assist us with achieving our environmental goals for the College.  With the funds we received, we purchased paper recycling bins for all primary classrooms and 4 Way WasteWatch Sulo bins in the Early Learning Centre, the teacher's staff room and the future Canteen area.

The waste is collected by students in the environmental group and distributed to the onsite paper recycling bin, the Containers For change or compost for the school garden. This project will help teach our TKC community to be conscious of reducing landfill and recycling waste.
