Science

Thank you to the Mater Dei Science staff who have worked so hard and done so much to provide many opportunities to our students in their classes this year.

In May, our Years 9 and 10 students participated in a Forensics Workshop called A Case of Identity. Students were given the opportunity to solve a make believe crime. Students examined the crime scene and analysed the evidence including entomology, trace evidence, fingerprints, toxicology and much more.

In July a selection of Year 10 students took part in the Rotary Science and Engineering Challenge. The challenge was presented by The University of Newcastle in partnership with Rotary Clubs of Wagga Wagga. The projects were judged on the day and our Year 10 students came second.

Congratulations to Joshua Press for winning the Year 12 Notre Dame Award for Overall Academic Achievement in Science.

To the students who are leaving, I wish them well in their future endeavours.
