LS1 Junior Art Show & Twilight Market Reflection

Thursday the 3rd of November, the juniors in LS1 were super excited to present their art work to their families and friends.

Children came in with enthusiasm and excitement to show parents and siblings all the art work they have been doing this year. LS1 Juniors presented their Writing artwork, Inquiry/ RE artwork and Book Week art work. The junior children in LS1 also suggested an “Appreciate Wall” to their families, it was the children's way to thank their parents for all the time and effort they have shown in their learning.

Senior Swimming

What a marvellous start to the Senior Swimming Program! Well done to the Seniors! And a big thanks to the Senior staff for all their support. Everything ran smoothly due to the Casey Race staff and our SFS staff.

A reminder to parents that Seniors will once again have swimming lessons on Monday and Tuesday next week. They will need to wear their bathers under their sports uniform and bring a bag with thongs, towel and undergarments.

Grade 5 Bike Education

Grade 5 Bike Education started today. Students learnt a variety of new skills. We hope that they will now practise these skills over the next week prior to their next Bike Ed lesson next Friday. Students will need to bring their bikes and helmets to school again next Friday.

Senior Soccer Clinics

Thanks to the Positive Start Program funded by the Government the Seniors will participate in soccer clinics in Week 9 for their Friday Sports. Each Learning Space will attend an hour clinic. Could parents please acknowledge the notification on Operoo and ensure their child is wearing their sports uniform, brings their hat and water bottle.

JUNIOR SPORTS

Junior Water Safety Lessons

Junior Water Safety Lessons started on Monday. There was a buzz of excitement as the students entered the pool. They were involved in rotational activities where they experienced wearing a life jacket, moving from one pontoon to another using floating devices if necessary and jumping into the pool and hanging onto a noodle.

A reminder to parents that the next Water Safety Lesson will be on Monday November 21st in a fortnight. Students will need to wear their bathers under their sports uniform and bring a bag with a towel, thongs and undergarments. On this day students will also need to bring old clothes such as shorts or pants with a t-shirt that they can wear in the water. This is to give them the experience of being in water with their clothes rather than just bathers. Students will then need a plastic bag to put their wet clothes into.

A reminder, that only parents that have been notified and debriefed by Giuliana will be able to assist in the change rooms.

Meet a Lifeguard Program

In Week 9 the Juniors will be involved in the Meet the Lifeguard Program which is run by Lifesaving Victoria. A lifeguard in uniform will attend the school and each Learning Space will attend an interactive program which focuses on water safety at home, in rivers and creeks and at the beach. This progam has been organised to enhance the Water Safety Program Juniors are involved in at Casey Race.

We ask parents to approve the Operoo notification where further information can also be found.
