YEAR 3 - 6 News

The Year 3/4 students have been busy, here is what we have been up to!

Cricket Clinics- Toorak Prahran Cricket Club (TPCC) is running two cricket clinics with P-6 on Thursdays. During our first clinic, students got to enjoy the sunshine, while learning new skills and the rules of the game by two English coaches.

Numeracy- Year 3/4 students developed their skills and knowledge of Capacity. During our lesson, kids worked outside with different sized containers listed A-I. They estimated how many millilitres or litres of water was required to fill the container and then checked their estimate by filling the container with that amount. Students reflected on their predictions and we discussed strategies to making a correct estimate.

Remembrance Day- Windsor Primary School held a special assembly for Remembrance Day. LS7 spent the week taking a closer look at the importance of the day, and how it impacted peoples lives. We selected certain roles i.e. Solider, mother of solider, solider whose wife is pregnant, daughter of solider and so on. Students then wrote letters to their husband, brother, wife, daughter etc. describing how life has been and how the war is impacting them. Adi, London, Ella and Sophia, were selected by the class to share their letter at assembly.

Prahran High School- PHS invited the Year 3-6 students to watch their whole school production “Annie.” We spent the afternoon watching the dress rehearsal, which was student led and cheered on our previous Windsor Primary students.
