Principal's Message

Dear Parents,

I’m not sure what has happened to our late spring, early summer weather! It certainly doesn’t feel like we are nearing the end of the year. The primary class and I have all the summer crops ready to plant in our kitchen garden but I have been too nervous with the frosts that we got last week! Perhaps there will be a sudden change soon; hopefully for next week’s swimming lessons at least!

Swimming Lessons:

Notes have been sent home for permission to attend this years’ Swimming Lesson Program at Uralla pool. The program runs for two weeks starting next week between 12 to 1pm. To help with the smooth running of the financial side of this program, we are asking that all students have their swimming lessons paid up front for the two weeks. This will amount to $20 per student or the upfront amount of pre-purchased pool entry vouchers. If your child happens to be away for one or more of the lessons, then you will be reimbursed for those days after all lessons are finished. Kentucky school has paid for all excursions and events for the whole year, including heavily subsidising the Sport and Rec Camp, so I feel that one small ask is more than acceptable. Permission notes and money are due to the school now. If you are having trouble making full payments please contact the office. If payments have not been finalised by this date and we have not been contacted, we will assume your child/ren is a non-swimmer and will miss out on this program. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

Marimba Performance:

Next Thursday December 1, students from the 3/4/5/6 class have been given the opportunity to perform the marimba songs we have learnt this year at the Senior Citizens’ Annual Christmas Luncheon at the Armidale Bowling Club. Mr Spillane will be joining us for this really exciting opportunity.

Rocky River Play:

Thursday December 8th, all students will be heading to Rocky River Public School to watch the dress rehearsal of their school play, The Wizard of Oz. After the performance we will have morning tea with the Rocky River kids before heading to our swimming lessons at Uralla Pool.

Presentation Day:

This years’ end of year presentation event will be held Tuesday 13th December starting at 12noon. We invite all families and community members to our school to celebrate the achievements our kids have made this year and farewell our year 6 students. A barbeque lunch will be provided to all attending.  We hope to see you all there!

P and C Raffle – Donations:

Leading up to the presentation day, our hard-working P&C will be running a raffle. We are asking our school community for item donations to help make this possible. These can be dropped into the school in the lead up to the presentation. Raffle tickets will be available and will be sent home this week to distribute amongst your families.
